जहाज को इसलिए निशाना बनाया गया क्योंकि उसने यमनी नौसेना बलों की चेतावनियों का जवाब नहीं दिया था।
जहाज की मालिक कंपनी ने इज़राइल के बंदरगाहों पर यमनी घेराबंदी का उल्लंघन किया।
